Certified Public Accountant
Pleasant Hill, CA · Accounting/FinanceOur client is a Pleasant Hill, CA based public accounting firm with over 800 clients, ranging from individuals to large organizations. They are looking for a senior Staff Accountant to take lead in tax preparation. tax review, client management and guiding junior staff . Ideally, this role will act as successor to leadership.
Responsibilities
Our client is looking for a seasoned CPA with:
Salary is $120,000/year with overtime accumulation that provides great earning opportunity during tax season. The team takes turns on substantial vacation times outside of annual crunch times. Our client also offers an innovative accrual program for healthcare contributions and time off, which can result in tenured employees enjoying 100% health benefit coverage and eligibility for as much as a full month off per year.
Employees have immediate access to 401k retirement savings, including employer matching.
The position is mostly onsite in an inviting office that is both people and dog friendly!

Responsibilities
- Assist in the review and preparation of federal and state individual and business income tax returns.
- Mentor and train junior staff.
- Assist in accounting and bookkeeping services for business clients.
- Assist in review and analysis of government notices and respond to letters from government agencies.
- Assist in W-4 planning and year-end tax planning for closely held companies and their shareholder or partners.
- Manage client relationships and improve client satisfaction.
Our client is looking for a seasoned CPA with:
- Experience in tax preparation and review in a public accounting firm, ideally in small to medium sized business marketplace.
- Must have proven excellence and comfort in client facing and advising environments.
- Must have experience with and further desire to mentor and manage accounting professionals and help them develop into their best professional selves.
- Must demonstrate strong communication skills; verbal and written.
- Bring a desire to provide “best in class” service to your clients each day
